Abstract
The opening chapters of the book discuss the history of lodging security, the professional organizations and career opportunities open to those interested in working in the field of hotel security, the education and training needed by lodging security officers, the general structural components of hotel security organizations, and overall policy and procedure guidelines. The remainder of the book deals with specific issues related to hotel security, including property perimeter and exterior security, internal and external risk factors, risk management, fire prevention and emergency planning, criminal trends involving hotels and motels, and casino security. 20 references and 10 appendixes
