THREE SEPARATE REPORTS WHICH PROFILE THE RESOURCES, PROGRAMS, AND FUNCTIONING OF THE STATE'S JAILS, JUVENILE FACILITIES, AND PRISONS.
Abstract
MODELS OF IDEAL INSTITUTIONAL FACILITIES AND PROGRAMS WERE DEVELOPED BY SEPARATE TASK FORCES. THE INPUT FOR THE FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF EACH TASK FORCE CAME FROM A REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE, INTERVIEWS WITH KEY ADMINISTRATORS AND PRACTITIONERS, COMPUTERIZED RESULTS OF QUESTIONNAIRES GIVEN TO ALL STAFF LEVELS, CLIENT INTERVIEWS, AND MODEL-BUILDING SESSIONS WITH STATEWIDE CORRECTIONAL EXPERTS. A SUMMARY OF RECOMMENDATIONS PRECEDES EACH TASK FORCE REPORT. FOR A SIMILAR ANALYSIS OF THE STATE'S PROBATION AND PAROLE SERVICES, SEE NCJ- 08484. THE ENTIRE STATE CORRECTIONAL PROBLEM IS SUMMARIZED IN NCJ-08482.
