TO UNDERSTAND HOW THE TRIAL LAWYER USES AN INFORMATION SYSTEM IN COMPLEX CASES, ONE MUST ISOLATE THE PRACTICAL PROBLEMS HE WILL FACE DURING THE PREPARATION FOR TRIAL AND THE ACTUAL TRIAL.
Abstract
THE TERM 'COMPLEX ACTION' REFERS TO A CASE THAT INVOLVES NOT ONLY LARGE NUMBERS OF DOCUMENTS BUT LARGE AMOUNTS OF DATA REQUIRING ANALYSIS. THE BEST WAY TO COPE WITH THE PROBLEMS IN A COMPLEX CASE IS TO USE THE INFORMATION SYSTEMS APPROACH. THE DOCUMENT DISCUSSES THE VARIOUS INFORMATION SYSTEM SUBSYSTEMS, SUCH AS PARAPROFESSIONAL, COMPUTER, AND MICROFORM. TO DETERMINE THE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS, THE LAWYERS SHOULD DISCUSS WITH TECHNICAL CONSULTANTS THE NEEDS OF THE CASE. SOFTWARE PACKAGES CAN THEN BE DESIGNED, AND COURSE OUTLINES DEVELOPED....ELW
