This booklet details the rules, policies, and procedures governing the behavior of inmates incarcerated in the Middlesex County Correction Center (New Jersey).
Abstract
The booklet points out that inmates are evaluated upon entry into the facility, and their security status is determined. The degree of freedom of movement allowed depends upon a prisoner's security status. Rules and regulations are discussed for such inmate activities as use of the telephone, the receipt of and sending of mail, and the reception of visitors. Procedures for work assignments, health and personal hygiene, and the maintenance of living quarters are detailed. Procedures for reduction of sentences for carrying out work assignments and for good behavior are spelled out for the prisoners. The booklet details the Correction Center disciplinary rules and the types of punishment meted out for breaking those rules. The booklet lists social, educational, medical, mental health, and dental services available to inmates. The booklet also includes a list of agencies available to help released inmates find jobs, job training, financial aid, alcohol and drug abuse treatment, and legal assistance.
