The Correctional Investigator, appointed to investigate and report upon complaints and problems of inmates in Canadian penitentiaries, offers recommendations in response to complaints received from June 1, 1980, to May 31, 1981.
Abstract
Recommendations pertain to disciplinary court, a claim against the Crown, compensation eligibility, food service irregularities, and transfer of inmates from one region to another. Others concern security-related problems, time limits on processing claims, access to information, inmate diets, suspension of inmate rights, claims notification procedures, and meal hours.
