CURRICULA, PARTICIPANTS, AND RESULTS OF EIGHT EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTES HELD IN THE U.S. IN 1971-1972.
Abstract
THE GOAL OF THE INSTITUTES WAS TO INCREASE THE KNOWLEDGE AMONG TOP AND MIDDLE LEVEL ADMINISTRATORS ABOUT NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN ORGANIZATIONAL PRACTICE, CRIMINOLOGY AND INSTITUTIONAL AND COMMUNITY-BASED TREATMENT, INTER-ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS, CASE AND LEGISLATIVE LAW, COMMUNAL AND SOCIETAL NEEDS AND RESOURCES, AND TO ENCOURAGE A UTILIZATION OF THAT KNOWLEDGE IN THEIR HOME INSTITUTIONS OR PROGRAMS. A SECOND GOAL WAS TO DEVELOP A HEIGHTENED COMMITMENT ON THE PART OF POLICY SETTING ADMINISTRATORS TO NEW CONCEPTS IN THE EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT OF CHANGE AND THE TESTING OF INNOVATIVE FORMS OF TREATMENT AND SERVICING OF ADULT AND JUVENILE OFFENDERS.
