This plan for the Correctional Service of Canada for 1989-92 notes that the Service will emphasize the safe community reintegration of offenders; the recognition of the staff as the Service's strength and major resource in achieving its objectives; and the need for the organization to be efficient, open, and accountable.
Abstract
The plan is intended to direct operations during 1989-90 and to guide the development of plans for the operations during subsequent years. It is also designed as a communication method and as a basis for management accountability. A strategic framework outlines the Correctional Service's long-term direction. Other sections explain the environmental factors that will affect operations, the areas that need further attention, the corporate objectives for the next 3 years, and the specific ways in which the objectives will be achieved. Attached report summarizing the progress made in achieving the specific objectives set in 1988-89.
