Abstract
"Collaborating for Success in Interagency Correctional Mental Health Reentry" describes Oklahoma's collaborative mental health reentry program for offenders returning to their communities. "Behavior Management Plans Decrease Inmate Self-Injury" focuses on behavior managements plans (BMPs), which are individualized, systematic programs that combine structured incentive plans with skills training and risk management in order to decrease inmate self- injury that is not driven by suicidal intent or serious psychiatric symptoms. "A Seat at the Table: The Need for Collaborative Leadership in Correctional Mental Health" defines "collaborative leadership" followed by a discussion of the role of mental health in collaborative leadership. "Forensic Mental Health: Criminal Justice's Second Revolving Door" envisions a future when the conditionally released forensic mentally ill patient and the mentally ill parolee may be treated and monitored by one group consisting of staff from both systems. "Reduce Recidivism Among Mentally Ill Offenders with Intensive Outpatient Support Programs" promotes the reduction of recidivism among mentally ill offenders in the community through a comprehensive collaborative program that encompasses mental health services, co-occurring behavioral issues, housing, and employment. "Taking STEPPS to Address Borderline Personality Disorder" describes Iowa's Systems Training for Emotional Predictability and Problem Solving (STEPPS) and its use with offenders having borderline personality disorder. "Mental Health Libraries Manage Stress for Detainees in ICE Custody" describes how the Mental Health Library at the ICE Port Isabel Detention Center has helped reduce detainee stress. "Correctional Workers and Stress: Providing Mental Health Support" focuses on how to reduce suicide among correctional workers through mental health support.
