Abstract
DATA ARE PRESENTED FOR (1) COSTS OF REPRESSION OF CRIME, INCLUDING POLICE, GENDARMERIE, PUBLIC PROSECUTOR AND COURTS, PENITENTIARY ADMINISTRATION, SUPERVISED EDUCATION OF JUVENILE DELINQUENTS, RECOVERY OF FINES AND EXPENSES OF JUSTICE, INMATE WORK, AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH; (2) COSTS OF CRIME PREVENTION, INCLUDING POLICE GENDARMERIE, JUDICIAL PROTECTION OF MINORS, 'ADMINISTRATIVE PROTECTION' OF MINORS, PREVENTION CLUBS AND TEAMS, AND SHELTER CENTERS FOR SOCIALLY MALADJUSTED PERSONS; (3) COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH VARIOUS TYPES OF CRIMINALITY, BROKEN DOWN BY CRIME; AND (4) COSTS OF PROTECTION, INCLUDING ALARM SYSTEMS, SAFES, BULLETPROOF GLASS, ARMORED TRANSPORT OF FUNDS, GUARD SERVICES, INSURANCE, AND STORE SECURITY SERVICES. INDIVIDUAL TABULATIONS ARE MADE FOR CHARGE TO PUBLIC FINANCE, CHARGE FOR THE VICTIMS, CHARGE IN TERMS OF NATIONAL ACCOUNTS, AND MONETARY ESTIMATE FOR VARIOUS TYPES OF CRIMINALITY. --IN FRENCH.
