The Court Receivables Tracking System (CORTS) is a single-user, microcomputer-based system for tracking accounts receivable and is designed for use by small courts of limited jurisdiction in Washington in managing their active time-pay accounts.
Abstract
The system was developed by the Office of the Administrator for the Courts (OAC) for the State of Washington. CORTS is a valuable tool for the small non-automated, limited-jurisdiction court trying to manage an increasing backlog of receivables related to fines, fees, and restitution. Courts can modify or enhance the basic system to include other features. The system provides information on defendants and citations, as well as account statements, delinquency notices, and administrative reports. CORTS was not designed as an accounting system and thus does not generate receipts or feature accounting controls. The OAC has applied for copyright protection on the source code and documentation. They are willing to allow transfer of the system to other courts, with a transfer fee for courts outside Washington. Sample screens and screen descriptions.
