Abstract
An overview explains that the company designs, installs, and provides training and support for video arraignment and teleconferencing systems; provides training and support for audio and video court recording systems; and designs, installs, and provides training and ongoing support for remote video filing systems. The systems are designed to adhere to standards of due process. A report from the director of information services for the Utah State Court System estimates that the State will save about $166,300 per courtroom over 5 years by using video trials even after paying the estimated $45,000 per courtroom cost of installing each video trial system. A letter from an Iowa associate court judge reports the use of the system to conduct initial appearances and bail bond review hearings for 15-30 criminal prisoner defendants daily. Other materials provide an overview of the nature, benefits, major components, and technical features of the video arraignment system and describe the use of the systems in several jurisdictions.
