HIGHLIGHTED ARE THE 1974 DECISION BY THE CALIFORNIA COURT OF APPEALS IN PEOPLE V. LOVERCAMP AND THE 1974 MICHIGAN COURT OF APPEALS RULING IN PEOPLE V. HARMON. THE SPECIFICS OF THESE HOLDINGS ARE EXAMINED, ALONG WITH THEIR IMPLICATIONS FOR EXTENDING PRISON RIGHTS AND THE RAMIFICATIONS FOR CORRECTIONS ADMINISTRATORS.
