USING A FREUDIAN ANALYSIS, THIS ARTICLE EXPLORES THE THEME THAT SOME CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR MAY BE ALTERNATIVE TO THE STATE OF DEPRESSION IN WHICH SOME NEUROTIC INDIVIDUALS LIVE.
Abstract
THE AUTHORS PROPOSE THAT BECAUSE CRIME IS OFTEN A DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO ESCAPE FROM DISTRESS, CRIMINOLOGY SHOULD TAKE ACCOUNT OF THE EXISTENCE OF THIS INTERNAL 'TRIBUNAL' IN WHICH THE INDIVIDUAL IS JUDGED HARSHLY BY HIS OWN GUILT FEELINGS. --IN ITALIAN
