Abstract
IN THIS BOOK THE AUTHOR PRIMARILY EXAMINES THE SOCIAL ASPECTS OF CRIME AND DRAWS UPON BOTH BRITISH AND AMERICAN SOCIOLOGICAL RESEARCH AND THEORIES. AN OUTLINE IS GIVEN OF THE VARIOUS SOCIAL AND INSTITUTIONAL WAYS IN WHICH CRIMINALS AND DELINQUENTS ARE TREATED IN ENGLAND, AND THERE IS A CRITICAL APPRAISAL OF POSSIBLE FUTURE TRENDS WITHIN THE PENOLOGICAL FIELD.
