Uniform Crime Reports for New York State for 1990 present data on New York State crimes and arrests for that year.
Abstract
Statistics on Part I offenses cover murder, forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny, and motor vehicle theft. Violent offenses (murder, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault) increased 4.4 percent from 1989 to 1990. Nonviolent offenses (burglary, larceny, and motor vehicle theft) increased 0.2 percent from 1989 to 1990. Part II offenses, which consist of all offenses not included in Part I offenses, showed a 0.2 percent decrease over 1989. Statistics are also provided on the location and time of the offense, value of property stolen, arrests for Part I and Part II offenses, the number of law enforcement officers killed or assaulted, and the number of law enforcement employees. The report also includes the following details on Part I offenses: type of weapon/force used, type of location in which the crime was committed, the number of offenses cleared, and the type and amount of property stolen and recovered.
