This 14th annual report on the nature, volume, and location of crime in Connecticut is designed to increase public awareness of crime and the need for all segments of society to work to prevent it.
Abstract
The data are obtained through the Uniform Crime Reporting program and are tabulated according to crime index offenses, value of property stolen and recovered, arrests, and offense and arrest data by contributor. Two sections consist of data on law enforcement employees, and four sections cover family violence. These figures show a slight decrease in crime in Connecticut, the first decrease in overall index crime since 1984. However, the use of firearms to commit index offenses has risen every year.
