This report presents statistics on the incidence and nature of index crimes in Connecticut during 1992.
Abstract
An index crime occurred every 3.2 minutes on the average. A violent crime occurred every 32.1 minutes, and a property crime occurred every 3.5 minutes. A total of 166,589 index offenses were reported, a decline of 10,424 from the 1991 total. Violent crime decreased by 8.3 percent, while property crime decreased by 5.6 percent. More than 5,077 index offenses occurred for every 100,000 residents. Law enforcement agencies cleared 21.1 percent of all index offenses. Tables and figures
