Abstract
One murder occurred every 3 days, one forcible rape every 13 hours, and one robbery every hour. One violent crime occurred every 38 minutes, while one nonviolent crime happened every 3 minutes. The crime rate for Connecticut in 1981 was 5,681 offenses for every 100,000 inhabitants. The report discusses the State's Uniform Crime Reporting system; gives a statewide summary of crime Index offenses, the value of property stolen and recovered, and a statewide summary of arrest data; and presents offense, arrest, and law enforcement employee data. Tables and graphs comprise most of the report.
