Abstract
Homicide is discussed under the topics of justifiable and excusable homicide, malice aforethought in murder, degrees of murder, and homicide in self-defense, while manslaughter is considered under the categories of voluntary and involuntary manslaughter. The sexual crimes defined are rape, incest, adultery, fornication, seduction, prostitution, bigamy, sodomy, homosexual crimes, voyeurism, and exhibitionism. The property crimes considered include larceny, embezzlement, false pretenses, robbery, extortion and blackmail, receiving stolen property, burglary, and arson. The motor vehicle offenses considered are speeding, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, homicide while driving, assault and battery while driving, hit and run, and the trial of such offenses. The minor crimes discussed are drunkenness, malicious mischief, breach of the peace, fighting, unlawful assembly and rioting, and carrying dangerous weapons. The classes of defenses considered include insanity, intoxication, mistake of fact, and mistake of law. Constitutional rights of the defendant are described, with particular attention to the privilege against self-incrimination, and rights before and at the trial. A subject index is provided.
