The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) supports research and development in the area of computerized crime mapping through its Crime Mapping Research Center (CMRC).
Abstract
The Visiting Fellowship Program of the CMRC offers research opportunities to individuals interested in criminal justice mapping applications. Visiting fellows study topics of mutual interest to the fellow and the CMRC while in residence for 3 to 18 months. Visiting fellows are expected to prepare reports suitable for publication by the NIJ. The CMRC is particularly interested in applications from candidates working in areas related to the long-range goals of CMRC's research and development programs and in areas related to the role of the CMRC as a clearinghouse for crime mapping research and development. Information on how to submit an application to the CMRC, selection criteria, eligibility requirements, and award amounts is included.
