The Nebraska Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program collected, compiled, and analyzed the 1983 crime statistics presented in this report.
Abstract
An introductory section reviews the UCR Program's history, discusses uniform crime classifications, identifies and describes Part I and Part II offenses, and defines crime index, clearances, crime rates, and crime factors. The data of the second section cover volume, crime rates, and clearances for all crime index offenses in Nebraska in 1983, as well as volume, rate, and analysis of the individual index offenses of murder, manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, assault, burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson. The report includes data on arrest volume, arrest rate, and arrests by age, sex, and race. Subsequent sections provide data on officers assaulted by time of assault, type of activity, type of weapon, and type of assignment; law enforcement employee data, including number and sex of officers by county; and offense data by county.
