This report presents Uniform Crime Reporting statistics on index crimes, violent crimes, and property crimes in New York State in 1993 and 1994.
Abstract
The estimated total index crimes in the State decreased 9.2 percent from 1993 to 1994, while New York City reported a 11.7 percent decrease. Among the jurisdictions outside New York City, law enforcement agencies in the 100,000 to 999,999 population group reported a 4.9 percent decrease in index offenses, agencies in the 50,000 to 99,999 group decreased 4.1 percent, while the 25,000 to 49,999 group decreased 4.9 percent. Agencies with populations under 25,000 and multijurisdiction agencies reported decreases of 4.4 percent. Statewide violent crime decreased 9.1 percent, while property crime decreased 9.3 percent.
