This North Carolina 1990 Uniform Crime Report presents data on index crime and offenses, arrests, and police officers killed or assaulted.
Abstract
The report notes that although the crime rate continues to rise, the rate of increase has slowed; the increase in index crime rate is less than half of the previous year's increase. The disturbing trend is in violent crime which was up to 12 percent compared to 11 percent the previous year. Arrest rates for violent crime increased by 26 percent.
