Abstract
The narrative section of the kit presents information concerning: (1) crime statistics; (2) partnership programs that work; (3) proclaiming a Crime Prevention month; (4) sample press release; (5) connecting to the Internet for crime prevention information; (6) involving youth in prevention activities; (7) finding resources and raising funds; (8) tools for prevention (planning a neighborhood watch meeting and a checklist for citizen patrols); (9) a calendar of special observances; (10) licensed educational products and selected resources from the National Crime Prevention Council; and (11) a membership list of The Crime Prevention Coalition of America. A separate pocket contains more than 30 reproducible brochures, articles, posters and activity sheets designed to complement each section of the guide. The materials are intended for distribution at crime prevention presentations and community events.
