PRESENTS GRAPHS TO SHOW DISTRIBUTION OF ROBBERIES HOURLY, DISTRIBUTION OF ROBBERIES DAILY, COMPANY CRIME RATES, AND AVERAGE LOSS PER ROBBERY FOR A CHAIN OF LATE-HOUR STORES.
Abstract
THE CHARTS INDICATE THAT THE PEAK OF ROBBERY INCIDENCE IS AROUND 10 THIRTY P.M. CHART II INDICATES THAT THESE STORES FIND LITTLE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN DAYS OF THE WEEK AS FAR AS THE PROBABILITY OF ROBBERY ATTACK IS CONCERNED, EXCEPT FOR A REDUCTION ON FRIDAYS. CHART III SHOWS THAT THE INCIDENCE OF ROBBERY FROM 1967 TO 1972 INCREASED STEADILY WHILE THE INCIDENCE OF BURGLARY REMAINED LEVEL UNTIL 1972, WHEN IT DROPPED SLIGHTLY. THE AVERAGE LOSS PER ROBBERY SHOWED A DECREASE FROM 1968 TO 1973. THIS DECLINE WAS ATTRIBUTED MAINLY TO STEEP REDUCTION IN LOSS-PER-ROBBERY IN FRANCHISE STORES.
