Abstract
The report describes the system of classifying offenses used by police in West Virginia, discusses crime factors, and presents an annual report synopsis and summary of county crime rates. The report presents statistics on crime rates in Class I, II, and III cities, and by county for the serious offenses of murder, forcible rape, robbery, felonious assault, breaking and entering, larceny/theft, and motor vehicle theft. The report also breaks down State arrest data into that for violent crime, property crime, narcotic offenses, gambling, juvenile crime, and DUI. The remainder of the report covers law enforcement data, and sections on arson, domestic violence, and controlled substances. 50 figures and tables
