This report presents data pertinent to the implementation of Victoria's (Australia) Crimes (Family Violence) Act.
Abstract
Two tables focus on elapsed days between the complaint and final hearing and elapsed days between the date of issue and final hearing by type of court procedure. Other data address who laid the complaint and the age and gender of the aggrieved family member. The age and sex of aggrieved family member as well as the defendant are indicated as well. Statistics on final intervention orders indicate whether they are issued or not, restrictions in final intervention orders by defendant, first-mentioned restriction in final intervention orders, and final orders in which all parties consented to orders. Other tables show the number of interim orders granted for cases which had a final order and an interim orders report. A series of tables pertain to the relationship and age group of aggrieved family members as well as the relationship and age group of defendants. Other tables address whether the defendant was present at the final hearing, whether it was a previous Family Law Act or Crimes (Family Violence) Act application, analysis of stalking victims, bail for breaches of intervention orders, an intimate personal relationship analysis, and breaches of final intervention orders.
