EXPLANATIONS FOR THIS, SUCH AS THE MORE RESPONSIBLE ROLE OF WOMEN OR THE SPREAD OF WOMEN'S LIBERATION ARE DISCUSSED. TRENDS IN FEMALE CRIMES ARE THEN REVIEWED FOR ENGLAND, JAPAN, GERMANY, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, SWITZERLAND, FRANCE, ITALY, SPAIN, ARGENTINA, AND THE SOVIET UNION.
