As an aid to legislators, judges, legal practitioners, and criminal justice administrators, this booklet identifies in abbreviated fashion major areas of the American Bar Association's (ABA's) policies and standards for criminal and juvenile justice.
Abstract
The first section, which addresses ABA policies of interest to those involved in the administration of criminal laws, identifies major policy issues and indicates where the reader may find more information about a particular ABA policy. The next section presents the table of contents for the second edition ABA Standards for Criminal Justice. In so doing, it identifies 578 ABA policy positions. The third section presents the table of contents for 20 volumes of the Institute of Judicial Administration-ABA Juvenile Justice Standards, setting forth 742 ABA policy positions. The booklet then provides brief descriptions of some of the publications produced by the ABA's Section of Criminal Justice. Although they do not represent ABA policy, the may be of interest to State legislators and policymakers. Order forms are included.
