ANALYSIS OF THE CALENDARING PROBLEMS CAUSED BY THE USE OF DOCKET SHEETS AS THE PRIMARY ORIGINAL RECORD OF CASE SETTINGS.
Abstract
THE SPECIAL PROBLEMS NOTED IN THIS REPORT INCLUDE KEEPING TRACK OF DRUG AND PSYCHIATRIC EXAMS AND COMMITMENTS, INSURING TRIAL OF INCARCERATED DEFENDANTS WITHIN THE REQUIRED TIME LIMIT, HANDLING REQUESTS FOR SPECIAL JUDGES, AND PAUPER APPEALS. EVALUATORS RECOMMENDED THAT THE COURT ADMINISTRATOR MAINTAIN A SEPARATE RECORDKEEPING SYSTEM FOR CALENDAR MANAGEMENT, THIS WOULD INVOLVE ADOPTING A MANUAL CALENDAR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, WITH DIFFERENT PROCEDURES FOR EACH STAGE OF THE CASE. THE SUGGESTED CARD FILE SYSTEM IS DESCRIBED IN DETAIL.
