Abstract
Governed by the Compensation for Victims of Crime Act, the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board is a quasi-judicial administrative tribunal committed to serving the public by providing compensation to innocent victims of crimes of violence occurring in the Province of Ontario, Canada. This annual report presents a comprehensive overview of the Canadian Criminal Injuries Compensation Board from April 1, 2002, to March 31, 2003. The report provides a listing of all board members, a board organizational chart, a program description, claim processing flow, the 1990 Compensation for Victims of Crime Act legislation, sample board decisions for cases of assault, sexual assault, murder, and robbery, letters of appreciation, stakeholders survey, and hearing sites.
