Abstract
EMPIRICAL, PRAGMATIC, AND SUBJECTIVE ASSESSMENTS OF PROGRAMS ARE INCLUDED ALONG WITH A FEW THEORETICAL PAPERS. ALL WERE PRESENTED AT A SERIES OF FOUR CONFERENCES SPONSORED BY LEAA THROUGH THE STATE OF WASHINGTON'S LAW AND JUSTICE PLANNING OFFICE AND THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON. TOPICS COVERED ARE: EVALUATION OF COMMUNITY-BASED CORRECTIONS PROGRAMS; EVALUATION OF BURGLARY REDUCTION PROGRAMS, WITH SPECIFIC EVALUATION OF THE SEATTLE PROGRAM; YOUTH SERVICES EVALUATION WITH CASE HISTORIES OF STUDIES IN KING COUNTY, WASH., PORTLAND, MAINE, AND SEATTLE; AND EVALUATION OF PUBLIC DEFENDER PROGRAMS.
