Annotation

This research project was designed to measure the attitudes of criminal justice students toward prisoners.

Abstract

These criminal justice students, from a regional midwestern university, participated in a summer internship program. The students who participated were administered the Attitude Toward Prisoners Scale (ATPS) designed by Melvin, Koeblitz and Gardner (1978), before they began their internships and immediately upon completion. Pre and post testing did indicate some significant attitude changes toward prisoners by students participating in the internship. This paper will focus on those changes. (Author abstract)
