Since 1975, the Criminal Justice Periodical Index (CJPI) has provided thorough indexing of more than 100 American, British, and Canadian criminal justice journals.
Abstract
CJPI is published three times per year and covers various disciplines: corrections, criminal law, criminology, drug abuse, family law, juvenile justice, police studies, prison administration, rehabilitation, and security systems. Entries are organized by author and by subject. The publisher, University Microfilms, Inc. (UMI), developed a controlled vocabulary thesaurus that incorporates current legal terminology as well as relevant terms from the social sciences. In 1985, subheadings and cross-references were substantially revised to facilitate easy and accurate use. Most of the journals indexed in CJPI are available in microform and are so identified. Copyright-cleared articles and issue photocopies are available through the UMI clearinghouse.
