INTERAGENCY COOPERATION AND MODERN EQUIPMENT RESULTED IN A DRAMATIC REDUCTION IN THE CRIME RATE ON A LARGE WESTERN UNIVERSITY CAMPUS.
Abstract
REVAMPING THE CAMPUS POLICE DEPARTMENT ALONG TRADITIONAL LINES EARNED COMMUNITY RESPECT AND COOPERATION WHEN POLICE METHODS WERE SHOWN TO BE EFFECTIVE. THE HELP FROM MUNICIPAL AND STATE POLICE DEPARTMENTS AND THE FBI IN ORGANIZING A COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM WAS LARGELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SUCCESS.
