As in other common law jurisdictions, general principles of criminal liability provide the foundation on which crime and criminal responsibility are established in Hong Kong; criminal law attempts to define, distinguish, and regulate crime through a complex system of rules governing behavior.
Abstract
Criminal law in Hong Kong is examined in several parts. The first parts cover criminal liability and capacity, factors affecting criminal liability, preparatory offenses, homicide, assault, sexual offenses, and public order offenses. Subsequent parts pertain to criminal damage, theft and related offenses, commercial crime and corruption, triads, prostitution, gambling, dangerous drugs, and immigration offenses. A table of legislation and a table of cases are included.
