RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN TENNESSEE CRIMINAL LAW AND CRIMINAL PROCEDURE AS REFLECTED BY 1970-1971 CASE DECISIONS OF STATE AND FEDERAL COURTS.
Abstract
THE SCOPE OF THIS SURVEY OF CURRENT CASES IS COMPREHENSIVE, RANGING FROM JUDICIAL DECISIONS INVOLVING SUCH CRIMINAL OFFENSES AS HOMICIDE, LARCENY AND ROBBERY TO CASES REGARDING SUCH PROCEDURAL MATTERS AS ARREST, SEARCH AND SEIZURE, PLEADING AND PRELIMINARY HEARING. RECENT DECISIONS ARE ALSO PRESENTED WHICH GIVE CURRENT EXPLANATION OF A CRIMINAL DEFENDANT'S CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO COUNSEL, TO A FAIR AND SPEEDY TRIAL, TO CONFRONTATION OF WITNESSES AT TRIAL, TO HIS PRIVILEGE AGAINST SELF INCRIMINATION AND TO HIS PROTECTION AGAINST DOUBLE JEOPARDY.
