This article discusses the historical use of chloroform in crime and discusses its use in one particular criminal case.
Abstract
Cases involving the alleged administration of chloroform by inhalation for criminal purposes often raise similar issues, such as, the effects of administration to an unwilling or sleeping victim, the duration of victim unconsciousness, and the behavioral or physical side effects of chloroform exposure. These issues are discussed with reference to reported incidents and the medical literature. 47 references. (Author abstract modified)
