Abstract
PART ONE OF THIS TEXT IS CONCERNED WITH THE BASIC TOOLS OF CRIMINALISTICS. EVIDENCE COLLECTION, REPORT WRITING AND PHOTOGRAPHY ARE DISCUSSED HERE. THE SECOND SECTION DELVES MORE DEEPLY INTO FORENSIC PHOTOGRAPHY AND DISCUSSES CASTS, MOLDS, AND GLASS FRACTURES. BLOOD AND OTHER BODY FLUIDS, ETCHING, AND MICROSCOPIC IMPRESSIONS ARE PRESENTED IN THE NEXT PART. THE SECTION ON PRACTICAL PROBLEMS AND TECHNICAL PROCEDURES IS CONCERNED WITH FINGERPRINTS, MICROSCOPES, QUESTIONED DOCUMENTS, AS WELL AS ARSON AND NARCOTICS INVESTIGATIONS. THE FINAL CHAPTER CONTAINS SUGGESTIONS FOR PROPER PRESENTATION OF EVIDENCE IN COURT AS THE FORENSIC SCIENTIST MUST OFTEN ASSUME THE ROLE OF THE EXPERT WITNESS.
