Abstract
The first part of the book discusses foundations of criminology, with emphasis on crime and criminology, criminal law and the criminal justice system, the production of crime statistics, and the distribution of crime. The second part describes crime theories, including deterrence, classical and neoclassical, biogenic, psychogenic, social structure, social process, and social reaction theories of crime. Recent developments in criminological theory are also reviewed. The third part examines different crime types, such as violent crime, economic crime, and crimes without victims, and considers current issues in criminology.
