Results of projects undertaken by the Criminology Research Council (CRC) for the 1992-1993 fiscal year are reported.
Abstract
The CRC controls and administers the Criminology Research Fund from which research grants are made to researchers undertaking criminology research projects. The CRC considered 45 research project applications during the 1992-1993 fiscal year, of which eight were approved. Subjects covered by the research projects include domestic violence, community policing, the impact of crime on victims of assault, the development of an advisory manual for police to respond to the communicative needs of intellectually disabled people, child abuse, the postrelease experience of imprisoned mothers, a school-based antivictim program, and the influence of interpersonal competence on personal vulnerability. Also included in this annual report are brief summaries of research projects completed during the year, financial statements of the CRC, and appendixes of research in progress, a listing of previously completed research projects of which copies of reports are available, and a listing of unsuccessful research projects for 1992-1993.
