This report summarizes the issues and initiatives addressed by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency during 1993 and outlines issues and activities to be addressed during 1994.
Abstract
The report discusses eight major program areas: intermediate sanctions, statistical and policy research, juvenile justice and delinquency prevention, the training of deputy sheriffs, community crime prevention programs, victim and witness services, criminal justice and drug prevention education training, and drug control and system improvement. The report also describes administrative and financial management issues, with emphasis on grants administration responsibilities. Accomplishments during 1993 included formulating juvenile detention standards, funding minority delinquency prevention and intervention projects in Harrisburg and Philadelphia, and the implementation of school-based probation programs in 27 counties.
