SURVEY OF COMMUNITED ORIENTED STUDIES INDICATING THE EXTENT TO WHICH DELINQUENCY IS ASSOCIATED WITH A RANGE OF SOCIOCULTURAL FACTORS.
Abstract
THE AUTHOR NOTES THE INCREASED USE OF COMMUNITY BASED PROGRAMS, THE USE OF NON-PROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL, AND PROGRAMS BASED ON ENHANCING COMPETENT BEHAVIOR AS OPPOSED TO THOSE FOCUSING ON INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP PATHOLOGY. INCREASED EMPHASIS HAS BEEN PLACED ON ACTION RESEARCH WHICH CAN BE READILY ADAPTED TO LARGE SCALE PROGRAMS. GAPS IN CRIME AND DELINQUENCY INFORMATION ARE NOTED AND FUTURE DIRECTIONS FOR RESEARCH ARE CONSIDERED. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
