THIS REPORT PROVIDES PROGRAM EVALUATIONS AND NEED ASSESSMENTS OF THE YOUTH SERVICES OF GLASTONBURY IN CONNECTICUT FOR 1976 AND 1977.
Abstract
FIRST, A SURVEY OF GLASTONBURY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS' AWARENESS OF THE YOUTH SERVICES PROGRAMS ILLUSTRATES THE EXTENT OF STUDENT RECOGNITION OF THE AGENCY'S PHYSICAL LOCATION SERVICES, AND CLIENT SATISFACTION. SECOND, A STUDY OF THE AGENCY'S CLIENTELE REVEALS THE DEMOGRAPHIC, SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS, AND SERVICE USE BREAKDOWN FOR THE POPULATION SERVED, THIRD, A TIME-SERIES DESIGN AND A SEPARATE-SAMPLE PRETEST AND POSTTEST DESIGN ARE PROJECTED FOR COMPLETION BY MARCH 1979 REGARDING THE AGENCY POPULATION REFERRAL SOURCE, CASE FLOW, AND TIME AND COST ANALYSIS AS THEY RELATE TO TREATMENT EFFECTIVENESS. TABULATED DATA OUTLINE 1976-77 YOUTH SERVICES REFERRAL SOURCES, CASE FLOW, AND SERVICE PATTERNS AS KINDS OF DATA THAT WILL BE USED IN THE 1979 PROJECT. AN EVALUATION OF THE YOUTH SERVICES EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM SHOWS EMPLOYMENT STATISTICS FOR BABYSITTING AND HOUSEWORK, YARDWORK, TRUCKING, CLERICAL, AND OTHER POSITIONS, WITH EMPLOYERS' AND ENROLLEES, DEGREES OF SATISFACTION WITH THE PROGRAM. RESPONSES FROMAN EVALUATION OF THE CREATIVE SERVICE PROGRAM ARE TABULATED FOR THE YOUTH SERVICES ACTION GROUP, TUTORING, MINI-COURSES, SPECIAL ONGOING SCHOOL SERVICES, AND THE SUMMER THEATER. COSTS ARE COMPARED FOR THE YOUTH SERVICES OF THE TOWN OF GLASTONBURY AND OF THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT. EVALUATION RECOMMENDATIONS AND AGENCY IMPLEMENTATIONS OF THEM ARE NOTED THROUGHOUT.
