THIS PLAN IDENTIFIES EXISTING CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM ACTIVITIES, AREA PROBLEMS, AREA GOALS, AND PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO ACHIEVE THESE GOALS.
Abstract
THE PROGRAM FOCUSSES UPON FINANCIAL PLANS AND FUNDING ALLOCATIONS. IT IS NOTED THAT THE DALLAS AREA IMPACT PROGRAM WILL REQUIRE THE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF A CRIME ANALYSIS SYSTEM TO GATHER, STUDY AND EVALUATE AVAILABLE CRIME AND SOCIO-DEMOGRAPHIC DATA. THIS INFORMATION IS USED TO DETERMINE THE EXISTING AND POTENTIAL OFFENDERS, VICTIMS AND SETTINGS, IN ORDER TO FOCUS PROGRAMS UPON SPECIFIC CRIME PROBLEMS. THE PLAN ALSO CONTAINS A DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED IMPACT DATA SYSTEM PROJECTS, IN ADDITION TO A DISCUSSION OF THE STAFFING OF THE DALLAS AREA CRIMINAL JUSTICE COUNCIL. THE APPENDIX INCLUDES A DATA INVENTORY TABLE, WHICH REFLECTS DATA REQUIREMENTS, INVENTORY AND AVAILABILITY IN THE DALLAS AREA CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. (AUTHOR ABSTRACT MODIFIED)
