This document presents the text of California's Dangerous Weapons' Control Law through the 1991 portion of the 1990-91 regular session of the California legislature.
Abstract
The law is part 4 of Title 2 of the California Penal Code. It includes definitions of firearms, machine guns, assault weapons, other destructive devices, ammunition, boobytraps, and other items. Provisions regarding the unlawful possession of certain weapons, the unlawful carrying of some weapons, prohibited actions, certification of body armor vests, and firearms regulations related to institutions are included. Also included are cross references, a State policy statement, ordering instructions for dealers' records, and a pamphlet explaining California's firearms laws.
