Abstract
A California probation officer discusses offender accountability, her methods of verification of offender information, and options when noncompliance is detected. A Texas probation officer describes his work with drug abusing offenders in outpatient or residential drug treatment and the impacts of funding cuts on treatment availability. Two Florida officers discuss their work with the Special Offender Unit in Miami, which supervises offenders involved in violent crimes, major drug conspiracies, racketeering, money laundering, major frauds, and public corruption. A Minnesota officer discusses his responsibilities as a specialist in sentencing guidelines. Finally, a mental health specialist describes several visits to clients in various parts of Chicago.
