A LEGISLATIVE ADDRESS ON THE NEED FOR UNIFORM DEFECTIVE DELINQUENCY LAWS AND INTERSTATE COMPACTS FOR REGIONAL INSTITUTIONS.
Abstract
FOCUSING ON THE MARYLAND LAW AND PATUXENT INSTITUTION, THE PROTECTION OFFERED TO THE PUBLIC IS EMPHASIZED BECAUSE OF THE INDETERMINATE SENTENCING PROVISION, WHICH ARE BRIEFLY OUTLINED. THE INCLUSIVENESS OF DEFECTIVE DELINQUENCY STATUTES AS OPPOSED TO SEXUAL PSYCHOPATHIC STATUTES IS STRESSED. SEVERAL INCIDENTS ARE CITED TO STRENGTHEN AN ARGUMENT FOR INTERSTATE COOPERATION IN DETAINING AND TREATING DEFECTIVE DELINQUENTS.
