This is an overview of the organization and investigative accomplishments of the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS), Office of the Inspector General, Department of Defense (DoD), for Fiscal Year (FY) 1994.
Abstract
Highlights for FY 1994 include the recording of more than 400 indictments and more than $1 billion in monetary fines. The report presents a description of the Office of the Assistant Inspector General for Investigations. including: historical overview, mission, organization, jurisdiction, authorities, staffing, training, FY 1995 goals and objectives, areas of special emphasis, proactive efforts, and coordination of remedies. The section on Significant Convictions and Recoveries in FY 1994 includes Convictions of Top 100 DoD Contractors, and Cases With Criminal/Civil/Administrative Recoveries Over $10,000,000. These same data are also listed for the years 1981-1994. Comparative historical analyses, including some statistics as far back as 1992, are presented in tabular form.
