Abstract
THE AUTHOR'S COMMENTS ARE BASED LARGELY UPON THE WORKINGS OF THE GENESEE COUNTY, MICH. CITIZENS PROBATION AUTHORITY (CPA). HE POINTS OUT SUCH SIMILARITIES BETWEEN DEFERRED PROSECUTION AND JUVENILE PROBATION HEARINGS AS ABSENCE OF DEFENSE COUNSEL AND THE IMPLICIT ASSUMPTION OF GUILT, AND SEES IN THESE THINGS GREAT POTENTIAL FOR PROSECUTORIAL HARASSMENT OF THE ACCUSED AND ABUSE OF THE DUE PROCESS OF LAW.
